We have tried with this request and Kathy Femiuk has tried to explain to the family that Jerry is available to work Monday - Friday 12-8 but we cannot staff an 8am -12pm shift in that location as it is simply too far for caregivers to transit for a 4 hour shift. This is not something we would be able to do. The only way we could make this work is if we go back to VCH and they take back the 4 hours every day and staff it with their people which means we lose 28 hours every week. VCH will not pay overtime and this family is not paying anything out of pocket except for their own private caregiver who they want us to work around which we have already done by changing the hours 8am -8pm. It would be so much more beneficial to them to have the consistency of him being there Monday to Friday and he is more than willing to adjust his shift.
