Please find attached some information they = provided about their services. I=E2=80=99ve also attached a summary of = my call with GB=E2=80=99s Canadian WC team dated 11/24/24. =20 Since there is a cost for GB=E2=80=99s services but no real, measurable = ROI, since all the claim costs are paid by the Canadian government, our = prior CFO didn=E2=80=99t approve moving forward. I still think this may = be worth pursuing since the resources that previously handled the = program for you are no longer available. If you would like me to obtain = a new quote from Gallagher Bassett, I will need a current breakdown of = the number of medical-only and indemnity claims in each province. =20 Emily, a condition for taking on this additional responsibility, Mansi = was asking for an additional headcount for the WC team. We even created = a new JD for a WC Administrative Assistant (please see the attachment). = We had identified someone from the HR Operations team to move into this = role. This person would also be involved in other administrative = projects, enabling Lupe and Alana to focus more on proactive claims = management rather than on administrative tasks. Please let me know if = you support revisiting the possibility of bringing the Canadian WC under = the Corporate WC. =20 Warm regards, DeeAnne Flegel Director, Employee Benefits and Risk Management deeanne.flegel@thekey.com (561) 917-6848 cell (650) 242-3954 fax www.TheKey.com =20 =20 **Please note - I am sending this email at a time that suits my work = schedule; please do not feel obliged to reply outside of your working = hours.** =20 From: Timothy Thomas =20 Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2026 9:05 AM To: deeanne.flegel@thekey.com Cc: Chantal-Marie Grinstead ; Jazman = Ramos ; Emily Kraeter Subject: Re: URGENT: Request for WC Guidance (Toronto) =20 Hi DeeAnne, =20 I would have typically worked with our local Employee Care Managers or = Katheryn Nester to resolve this claim; however, those resources are no = longer available.
