Update of “welcome emails” to employee situation :
1. Cause of delay-failure of system generated welcome emails is an IT problem, not an operations team problem.
IT dept is dealing with this issue.
1. Solution: Operations team has manually prepared “welcome emails” for the 17 employees (Toronto Division).
2. That one email from them, with all employee PDFs, will be sent to me within the next hour or 2.
3. Dawn, how would you like to distribute these emails to employees? Can I forward to you the employee PDFs,
and you then you forward to them? Please let me know.
1. I understand, this is a time sensitive situation, and is frustrating to the (Toronto Division) employees. Again, I must reiterate, these employees
have insurance coverage, any and all claims, respecting the contract coverage date, will be re-imbursed, not in months but in weeks.
Let us rectify this issue, and then I will meet like to meet with you and this team.

Is there someone we can escalate this to? This level of service has not been acceptable. Understandably, these employees are anxious and frustrated, they were just acquired by a new company, told they were going to have benefits and now we are two-plus weeks in and still nothing.
Our CEO and CHRO are meeting with this team morning and I would be extremely disappointed if, during this meeting with the Executive team, employees expressed their concerns and they did not have a resolution.

Also, note that since I did not have the beneficiary designations in the enrolment file, they will need to go and complete this information when they complete their on line profile.
Some of the new employees will also need to complete the information regarding their dependents. It is very important that this information be completed as quickly as possible (when the employees receive the email from Sun Life) and that it is input correctly, otherwise the dependents will not be able to claim (for family, couple or single parent plans).
