In the first week, my mother and stepfather will be disoriented and exhausted, and neither will be receptive to a comprehensive interview about their health, with me or anyone else. In addition, there may be new care requirements; my stepfather Andre's first medical appointment in Montreal will be a week after they move here (July 16). On July 21 we have an appointment at a local clinic where he will receive an initial intake and consult for his dementia and heart condition. From there, we hope to receive referral to the various specialists he requires. His medication prescriptions and care regime most likely will be the same as in Ontario, but until he receives specific Quebec care, we will have no reliable medical guidance. It is already very complex getting his basic medical care oriented here, and it this will have to take precedence over any comprehensive home care plan. Once his Quebec medical care is oriented, approx end of July, then we will be able to do consultation with your caregiver manager, most likely in person. Do you think we can still proceed with choosing a general caregiver from your suggested profiles for that first week or two? If they are well-suited we will definitely want to continue working with them. We won't need to schedule any other caregiver interviews. I will explain to my mother that if she doesn't like the choice of caregiver, it will be a simple matter to try out some others. best, Zoe On Thu, Jun 8, 2017 at 12:01 PM, Timothy Thomas wrote: > Hi Zoe, > > I'm happy to hear that you've entrusted your stepfather's care to us. > Thank you! > > We can proceed with the schedule we discussed from July 17th to the 21st. > We typically don't organize more than one interview at a time.
