I discussed with Pam last night. The kensington wants her out because she ha= s periods where she is very agitated and physically aggressive, our Nikki ha= s experienced that also. The problem seems to be more at night, and the medi= cations Dr Lysy has prescribed are not working. What works when she is in th= at state is injections, to calm and sedate her. Pam D has been told that sta= ff and caregivers cannot control her when she is in that state, and that ken= sington does not deal with clients that are physically aggressive and need r= estraining, therefore Pam said she does not want to try having an HCA caregi= ver overnight. As well, Pam wants to reduce her costs, so she would rather h= ave her mom go to another residence, where they can administer injections as= needed, than have 24 hr care in an apartment. I told Pam to speak with Dr Lysy to perhaps try different combinations of me= dications, and perhaps have her consulted to a geriatric psychiatrist, and P= am will speak to Lysy, but it seems that the kensington is not invested in f= inding ways to fix the situation and want her out. I will call Sandra the nurse today to chat with her and see what she has to a= dd.
