Good morning Cathy and Jim, I spoke with Nelly about Harry's appointment with Dr. Lebel yesterday. Dr Le= bel said that Harry's left leg has poor vascular circulation, he doesn't thi= nk the ulcers will heal, due to not only the poor circulation but as well th= e location of the ulcers and his age. He said the ulcers will probably fuse= eventually, but that the ulcers are not close to the bone, and they are not= infected. Dr Lebel tried to debride it but it was very painful for Harry s= o he only removed some dead skin. He did not want to freeze Harry's leg to d= ebride it because of the decreased circulation and he didn't know what the a= fter effects would be. Dr Lebel said that it would be adequate for the CLSC t= o come three times a week, the dressings do not need to be done daily. He al= so prescribed a different cream for the dressings that the CLSC will apply w= hen they are doing the dressing. If the CLSC nurses see any angry redness around the dressing they will let u= s know and we will take him back to vascular at the Glen. Dr Lebel will retu= rn in August, and Nelly will take him back to see him in August 17. Harrys upcoming appointments are July 4- Dr Finkelstein July 13-Dr Shustik July 20-Dr Girzon July 24-Geriatric consult Maria Licoudis, Registered Nurse, C.N.C.C, N.M.C Care Manager Home Care Assistance mlicoudis@homecareassistance.com www.homecareassitancemontreal.ca Office: 514-907-5065=
