The 1/10 was really for Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and not for us. VCH is our client (government funded care in Vancouver) and they hire us to care for people in their homes until they are able to find a bed in a Long Term Care Home or until the client no longer needs assistance. In this situation the client was moved into LTC as she is not able to care for herself at home. The family was under the impression that VCH would be providing home care indefinitely and as long as her mother wanted to stay home. Obviously this is not the case as the government can't afford to keep people at home on 24/7 care forever. They are the ones who ended the service which their mother had no say over. They had the option to pay for the care privately if they wanted but they did not want to do that and so the decision is then made to move her to LTC. I have a call with her daughter today to try and explain this again to her. I hope this explains things, Cheryl ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Medallia Feedback Date: Wed, Dec 7, 2022 at 9:00 AM Subject: Daily Report: Survey Scores 8 or Below To: This report is designed to help you identify situations that require intervention and referral accounts at risk. She wanted to stay at home. Your care aides thought that she was doing well at home. Her human rights have been violated by my brother and now her human rights are being violated by Vancouver Coastal Health. Lynn Valley Long Term Care Centre will not allow any visitors to see my Mom. Social isolation is a huge concern for seniors. And, leads to poor health. Why are they punishing her?
