Name: Jennifer Gouveia Email: jengo@magma.ca Phone: 613-283-3456 Type of Care: Hourly Care Referral Source: Google My mother has memory loss that seems to be getting worse. She is 87 years old. She tells me she needs help bathing sometimes but mostly she needs someone to take her out when she needs to go to the store or anywhere else. Within the last 2 years or so she stopped driving which was something she misses. She takes care of herself very well and lives alone but because her memory loss will continue to get worse we are concerned. She also needs to be able to have some social activities during the week, an outing or just trips to the store generally. She used to be very social but we find she is getting depressed now with not enough to keep her busy. She needs more companionship. She loves to dance and enjoys this the most. We live in Ottawa so cannot always be there and my siblings are not always up to the task. They seem to need a break. We are just looking at options at this point. My feeling is she would be happier at home if we could resolve the loneliness issue and provide her with some mental stimulation and fun Any suggestions would be appreciated..
