Hi there
Cathy Feniuk and I both met with Mark Cooper the son of Maurice. He wanted
to talk in two parts with one being Cristina Maria and the other being
ongoing care for his father;

*Cristina*

Mark showed us the video clearly showing her putting the rooster figurine
in her purse and being somewhat deliberate in ensuring no one else was
around. He also showed us the video of her using the clients ointment on
her own head but what added to it was that she just put the whole tube on
her scalp and rubbed it in. Very strange behavior. He shared some of the
other incidents verbally as he said he found it too disturbing to watch the
footage again. I have to admit after talking to him there is no way she
should be working with the vulnerable sector.
I will have Anna terminate Maria Cristina

*Ongoing Care*

Mark does not want to lose Jocelyn his main caregiver but also feels the
grass is not always greener on the other side and he knows us and is happy
with the response he gets from the office but has concerns with a few
things:

   - Caregivers late and no one told him and the time was not made up
   - Weekend caregivers not performing the same tasks as the week day
   - Caregivers on phone or laptops when working with his dad who is put in
front of the tv - mainly all other caregivers except jocelyn
   - Client not allowing anyone to shower him - he wants help with this
   - Oral care not being done
   - Nutritious breakfast the MAIN ask- if he says not hungry they need to
leave it for 10 minutes and try again - most are just taking it away
   - Adding protein to every meal - smoothies etc talked about
   - Caregivers taking initiative to do things with dad ie walk, games, go
for a drive, play cards etc- dad sleeping maybe doing some tasks like meal
   prep, laundry, etc
   - Careplan - how do caregivers know what to do - this was discussed and
Cathy F has sent plan to him
   - Caregivers not saying goodbye to dad when they leave
   - Caregivers on weekend don't know how to cook at all - he had to
describe how to make scrambled eggs
   - Weekend team not changing his clothes the whole weekend

Mark's basic ask from us is that he wants people engaged in the care of his
father. He wants him to have a quality life with caregivers that are
committed. He wants him to have compassionate care with accountability.
He is open to different caregivers but wants Jocely to do Monday - Friday
both shifts. We can approach her to do that but she has not wanted to in
the past as he is more work now - thinking we bump her up a dollar?
Mark also wants consistency on the weekend and is willing to do longer
hours if we can change the price - he is paying $37.50 right now. Can we
do a 9 hour shift each weekend for $36.00 instead?
Mark was very reasonable and in now way was he looking for us to compensate
him for Crisitna but does want to make sure another Cristina does not come
to work for his father.

Cathy and I spoke after about things she could do to help us find and keep
a solid team and I am confident she has a plan for this to be a better
experience going forward for both father and son.
Thanks so much
Sharon

Oops Lee - I phoned but the message was "this person is not receiving calls
at this time" and I could not leave a voicemail. I then emailed him and
copied Cheryl in as to the next steps.
