Good Afternoon Steve,

We are hoping to get your thoughts on a situation. A client reached out to
us with concerns that his caregiver was taking money from his visa by way
of cash advances. On several occasions, several hundred dollars was
withdrawn after the caregiver was given the card for grocery shopping.
Typically we do not allow caregivers to have access to client debit and
credit cards but the client offered her the card for errands including
giving her the PIN number. The amount missing totals close to $2000.00

We have removed the caregiver from the case in the meantime. The question
we have is who should be approaching the police for an investigation? The
client or our HCA office? A formal investigation is required regardless but
we weren't sure what would be the preferred protocol. The client is
expecting this to be investigated.

Thanks for your help,

Cheryl
